Softball and Cinderella “Gypsy Road”…ahh Summer.
Summer = Softball.
This is what usually happens to people after a weekend of "Softball"
Summer is in the air. I can feel it. Despite Old Man Winter’s valiant efforts, Summer is pushing its way in. Its getting humid, the trees are green and a good buddy of mine said to me last night “I have a softball game tonight”. I suggested he hit a “homer” and he likely did. With the arrival of near summer one song reminds me of softball, summer, beer, weekend softball tourneys, hotties, and fun times. The song is “Gypsy Road” by Cinderella. Why? you may ask? Because I was once on an epic softball team who played music before each person’s at bat. Each person had a song……a cockrock song. Gypsy Road was “Forklift’s” song and it always got me ready to play.
I know, this isnt your usual Losers Bracket material….but that’s exactly what were striving for……unusual, along with mainstream. Kind of like Cinderella. They were 100% cockrock, but also had some blues and a unique voice.
Here is a shout out to Summer, Softball leagues, ,tourneys and The Forklift.
I think i recognize those 3 gentleman. I believe they may have won a 6′ beer drinking trophy that weekend. And after an entire weekend of drinking beer they may have switched to mixers at a local watering hole which led to the passing out on the sidewalk. Ahhhh,, the good ole days. At least I believe no one was arrested that weekend. I have been told over the years that the team that played the music before the at bats was the most entertaining team anyone had seen in southeastern Wisconsin. These same epic players also had parents night once a year where they actually brought their parents on the field and handed them flowers. Good stuff. Good Stuff.

The best part of that picture is that all three guys woke up the next morning with a ring of bologna stuck up their asses. No Joke!!!
ahhhhh…..to be 27 again.
