Losers Bracket…..Bracket 2012
Last year we had a cat pick our LosersBracket 2011 NCAA Tournament Bracket. This year, well, I got a little carried away.
I decided that I would randomly pick the winner of each game, out of a hat, with the number of paper slips each team has in the hat determined by their seeding. For example; #4 seed Wisconsin vs. #13 seed Montana. Wisconsin had 13 slips of paper in the hat, Montana had 4. Get it? Just reverse the seeding to apply the appropriate weight of each teams’ seed to the random selection hat. A #16 has 1 slip while the #1 seed has 16. Seems to make sense…..kind of.
After completing this THREE HOUR task (PS. Dont try this…cutting each hundreds of little pieces of paper with a team name on it sucks bag and takes forever.) we have our Losers Bracket…..Bracket.
Thoughts;
-We have the ever popular #5 over a #12 with South Florida predicted to beat Temple.
-The South and West brackets shaped up as they likely should with Kentucky making it to the finals.
-The East and Midwest were FILLED with random upsets and has Florida State making the finals.
-In customary fashion, Marquette and Wisconsin won their first round…..then pooped their pants in the Thirsty 32.
-Florida State winning the whole thing? Who knows.
-This is how I will pick every year’s bracket as I know little to nothing about team match ups and who will win each game. Hell, in high school, when I heard people talking about UCONN I thought they were talking about a college in Alaska…….NERD.
**Disclaimer** Do not ever use one of our brackets for actual gambling. If you do, realize that we used the wisdom of a cat and a not very scientific, seed weighted method.
Good luck Losers, enjoy March Madness. It is freaking awesome.

Goat,
You are truly insane. But what is even more insane is that your method is probably a better method than those of us who think we know what we are talking about making our selections based on said knowledge. The whole thing is a crap shoot. Butler was in back to back championship games. Yes, I said Butler. Good luck Goat. I think you may be onto something here.
Great article SteveGoat.
Great article you old Goat. I just filled my bracket with as much knowledge of NCAA Basketball as your average dog. so your method makes sense except we would have to fine tune a bit to keep The “Big Dogs” from being eliminated too soon.Florida State??? No way we can bet that or should we???
Wow, Bracket BUSTED.
Holy upset city in the first round. I have never seen so many darn upsets.
3 of 4 final four still running.
2 of your final 4 still left. winner!
