Brett Favre, best Packer ever?
Ron Wolf states that Brett Favre is the “best Packer ever”. Ahhhhhh, Brett Favre. Even today, TV ratings, ESPN, sports blogs, etc. light up when news about the old gun slinger comes across the wire…at least to a point….I guess its likely flaming out a bit. Brett Favre is the reason we started this blog….the second biggest dividing topic in Wisconsin history (of course the Favre Watch drama was pre-recall madness). This quote is great; “I’m not familiar with any schism because I’m not around here,” Wolf said. Schism….its been a while, feels funny/dirty to talk about the schism again, but, like it or not, Brett Favre, his career, his greatness, and the schism/ending are woven into Wisconsin history like beer and cheese. Soon, very soon, Brett will be back in Lambeau receiving honors, accolades and seeing his Jersey retired and his name and number posted to the ring of honor. Those of us who are still bitter (and yes there are people who are still mad at Favre) will have to make a decision if we let him back into our green and gold hearts. I think most Packer fans will open their arms to Brett again. He strayed, he cheated with the sexy mistress in purple, but we all hope he comes back to the Green and Gold and he and Teddy T can have a “bro hug” at midfield…….or duke it out, whatever haha.
So what do you think Losers? Is Brett Favre the “best Packer ever”? I caution you….you do have to look past any animosity you may still have and you really have to reflect on this. Is he the best Packer ever? I am on record for being in the Favre hater camp, but I do recognize that he resurrected (with Ron Wolf and Reggie White’s help of course) the Packer franchise. Brett Favre gave us season after season of hope and a valid reason to have Super Bowl dreams year after year. So, is Brett Favre the best Packer ever?
