The Rise & Fall of James Starks

posted by RosteBeefe

GREEN BAY PACKERS JAMES STARKS CAREER IS HEADED FOR THE COMPOST PILE. Often I have bought cut flowers from the farmers market and got them home and I was so enamored with them.  Their colors their smell, they made the house a home.  Surely, they would last for weeks.  The next morning sadly I realized, these flowers were not meant to live in a vase.  Their time was limited and soon they found their way to the compost pile.  (If I had a compost pile.) That’s how I feel about James Starks.  He came out of nowhere, Buffalo actually, as a 6th round super Ted Thompson sleeper.  If not for an injury he might of been a sleeper Heisman...

An attempt at the Packers 53-man roster

posted by Justin Hull

I get it, I am probably wasting my time because I have no idea what is going through the mind of Ted Thompson, Mike McCarthy and the coaches at 1265 Lombardi Avenue.  But with plans of doing the roster power rankings come season, I figure why not take a crack at it until that point.  So here is my best attempt at the 53-man roster for the Packers… Quarterbacks (2) – Aaron Rodgers & Graham Harrell Yup, Harrell has been less than impressive but the Packers have been patient with the early struggles before at quarterback and it has paid off (Rodgers & Matt Flynn).  Besides, would Colt McCoy or Tarvaris Jackson lead this...

Once the final horn sounds tonight in the Packers-Browns exhibition, the preseason will be half over!  Yay!  Last week about as bad of football Packer fans have seen since Mike Sherman’s final year, preseason or not.  So after last weeks monumental over reaction, how will fans feel...

From day one, I have been a big believer in Ted Thompson and his philosophy for building a football team.  It took a lot of patience from Packers fans, but the franchise was rewarded with a Super Bowl victory in the 2010 season.  Thompson has ALWAYS stuck with guns; drafting best player...

Äæåê Ðè÷åð I am probably the driver of the “Green Bay Packers don’t need a running back” bandwagon.  So it may be funny that I took the time to talk with Brandon Saine this week at training camp.  The fact is the Packers will always have running backs, it’s...

Roste Beefe finally had to do it.  I am not a traditional jersey guy.  I used to be.  In my single days and in my 20s. NBA was my style.  Shaq, Bob Sura, Oscar Robinson, Magic…all versions, including dream team, Bird.  Ok, you get the point.  Not really NFL stuff. Anyways, I gotta...

THE TITLE COMES HOME

posted by RosteBeefe

JAMES STARKS TO SOLIDIFY OFFENSE After watching the greatest TV show in the history of the world last night, America’s Game: 2010 Packers on the NFL Network (playing again today at 11:30ET),  I am so stoked for the trophy to return to Lambeau tonight. Bart Starr is going to bring out the flag to start the game.  Kid Rock playing at 3pm.  The titlebelt firmly around Aaron Rodgers waist.  Clay Matthews being his rock star self.   James Starks showing the world he IS A BEAST. Welcome home champs.  Welcome Home. Mini Side Bar.  If you are a Packer fan or know a Packer fan that is homeless or something, make sure they watch that...

Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews Green Bay Packers jerseys are the top sellers in the world.   It’s official Packers rule.   Of all the NFL jerseys sold, Matthews and Rodgers are at the top of the list so says The Denver Post.  We are the champs.  It’s really no suprise. ...

Eagles Now The Favorites OVER THE CHAMPS?

posted by RosteBeefe

Thank you Eagles.   The Green Bay Packers huge target on their back has been lifted.  Aaron Rodgers and the boys have just lost a ton of the spot light and the pressure.  The smallest market just got shrunk a bit more.   THE PACKERS ARE NOW THE UNDER DOG!  This after they just won the super bowl with 1/2 their roster hurt.   This is perfect. The Eagles though have just went bonkers in free agency.  They have signed (so far)… Cullen Jenkins and his five games a year he plays.   (yep if you didn’t hear they signed him too). the dream team defensive backs that I won’t waste my spell check spelling (Vanna can I get a...

Green Bay Packers: 97 vs 2011 Who’s Better?

posted by RosteBeefe

The most talented Green Bay Packers team in most of our lifetime’s (unless you are old enough to actually remember a time before air conditioning) was the 1997 Green Bay Packers.  Yep not the Super Bowl winning teams, the 1996 and 2010 teams were “just finding themselves.”  They were not loaded like the 1997 team.  That 1997 team went 13-3 and was a fourteen point favorite in the super bowl!  The 1996 while super special was not loaded like the 97 monsters. Many people  think (us included) the 2011 team is absolutely loaded, in fact better than last year when that roster was good enough to wear the title belt. Question...

Brett Favre Should Return to Green Bay Packers

posted by RosteBeefe

An open letter to BRETT FAVRE on why he should return to the GREEN BAY PACKERS. Dear Brett, It’s time Brett.  It’s time to come back home.  An old NFL exec Gil Brandt says you are thinking about coming back to the NFL, even as a backup.  We assume you will want to come back to play with a winner.  Knowing you… you might not even know that the Packers are Super Bowl Champs… unless your tractor needed gas (sorry, sorry… just couldn’t resist.)  Anyways, it’s time to come back home just like Dorothy, just like the prodigal son, and just like, well hell not many people come back home.  You have that...

Green Bay Packers to Hire New Cheerleaders?

posted by RosteBeefe

Two suggestions for this years, WORLD CHAMPION GREEN BAY PACKERS! 1)  Give James Starks the rock like they did in the playoffs. 2) Find some new cheerleaders.  Look I know it’s old school and classy that they let the B talent from Saint Norbert’s run around on the field during the game.  But this is the NFL.   Two thoughts.  Hire this chinese Male guy below.  That sh!t is incredible.  I would love to see a guy from Medford in blaze orange squirm as this guy dominates a routine during the 1st quarter break.  Surround him with 4 hotties and we call it good. Or even better, bring in the IFL girls.  The Green Bay...

Green Bay Packers running back James Starks is being dissed as a bit player going into next year, and not a core part of the Super Bowl Champs (man I love saying that).   This is fundamentally wrong.  He will total 1,300 plus yards on the ground and be honored in the Pro Bowl for the first...
